VIRTUAL MEMORIAL

The twentieth century has seen some of the greatest conflicts in the history of human existence.  Two major world wars, dozens of regional wars and numerous rebellions have taken place during the past century.  These conflicts have taken the lives of tens of millions of people in Europe, Asia, Africa and the America's.  In every instance Canadians have been called upon to defend the ideals that have built our nation.  Hundreds of thousands of Canadians have served in the armed forces of which many thousands were members of the Masonic fraternity.

The following virtual memorial is in memory of Freemasons who made the supreme sacrifice and were members of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario.  Although this memorial is incomplete, it is the most comprehensive list in regards to the Masonic War Dead of Ontario.

Currently 25 biographies have been written about individual masons who paid the ultimate price in defence of our freedom.  It is my hope that one-day biographies about all our war dead can be compiled and made available.  If anyone would like to contribute to this biographical project, please contact me.

In order to finish this memorial I would invite any masons, lodges or districts that notice errors or omissions to contact me.  With help from the Masons of Ontario a complete account of our War Dead can become a reality.

Yours in Masonry
Worshipful Brother Gene Alfred Lotz
Windsor District Historian
